Doggie Day Care

At The Dog Company, we take pride in our team’s extensive expertise in fostering socialization and implementing effective structure. Prior to enrollment, each dog undergoes a comprehensive evaluation to ensure the safety and well-being of both canines and humans alike. (Please note: A $30 appointment fee applies.)

Curious about your dog’s daily routine? Allow us to enlighten you! Your furry companion will revel in ample socialization time within a carefully curated group of dogs, all while being closely supervised by our adept trainers. These skilled professionals will not only oversee their interactions but also impart valuable lessons in proper play etiquettes and structured relaxation.

Contemplating whether your fearful, aggressive, or reactive dog can partake? In most scenarios, the answer is yes. This is precisely why we mandate the evaluation process. We possess the expertise and insight necessary to acclimate your dog to the environment with sensitivity and care. Our mission is to facilitate the socialization of as many dogs as possible. Depending on your dog’s needs, enrollment in one of our customized training programs might be recommended to ensure a harmonious experience for all.

*LATE PICK-UP POLICY

Any dog owner that arrives after 5:20pm to pick up will be charged a $10.00 convenience fee. Although we make every attempt to accommodate schedules, The Dog Company also has other obligations to attend to after hours.

Collars & Leashes

It is mandatory that all dogs wear a quick release collar to daycare. Dogs tend to use their mouths while playing and a quick release collar (collar with a clip, not a buckle) ensures your dog is not in distress while playing with another dog at any time.

Because our facility is located on a highly traveled road, ALL DOGS MUST ARRIVE AND LEAVE ON LEASHES. Even if your dog does not generally walk on a leash, they can be unpredictable at times, so to ensure everyone remains safe, please walk your dog to and from your car on a leash.

Unaltered Dogs

We recommend all our dogs being spayed or neutered, but it is not mandatory. Unaltered dogs may be restricted from some of the larger group activities.

Behavior Traits

All dogs must be non-aggressive and non-food or toy protective, unless enrolled in a training program. The Dog Company relies on owners to verify their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dogs. Please remember that your pet will be spending time with other pets and the safety and health of the entire group is our main concern.

Excessive Barking/Misbehavior

In order to maintain a safe play environment for the dogs, any dog that misbehaves will be given a time-out from the daycare area. Because excessive barking can escalate the intensity of the pack dynamic and create an extremely chaotic environment for the dogs, we reserve the right to use training aides as we feel necessary.

If your dog is displaying aggressive behavior or is misbehaving while at daycare, we will notify you and give a conduct report at pick-up to ensure you are aware of your dog’s daily activity while in our care. If this behavior is an ongoing problem, you may be required to utilize our training programs in order for admittance back to the Day Care program.

Health Requirements

It is our main concern that all dogs at The Dog Company are in EXCELLENT health. If your dog has diarrhea or is vomiting and you are unsure of why they are sick, please DO NOT bring your dog to daycare. Often times dogs will carry a communicable virus and we want to ensure they are not bringing it to daycare to spread to other dogs.

If your dog goes to the vet and they treat him/her for a communicable condition, the dog will not be permitted to return until a veterinary certificate of good health can be presented.

It is strongly recommended that your dog receive some form of flea/tick treatment.

If your dog has been dropped off for daycare and has diarrhea or displays signs of illness, he/she will be removed from the group and will not be able to socialize with the other dogs until this problem has been resolved. Dogs with excessive diarrhea may be required to have a negative fecal and/or giardia test before being re-admitted to daycare.

Bathing

The Dog Company offers bathing. If you would like us to bathe your dog before you pick them up from daycare (ask a The Dog Company staff member for pricing), we must know during drop off, so we can plan accordingly to ensure the dog gets plenty of playtime and is bathed before your scheduled pick-up time.

Authorized Persons for Pick-Up

If someone other than yourself or another owner of the dog is picking up from daycare, that person must either be listed on your registration form as authorized to pick-up, or we must know at drop off. ID will need to be presented by the person picking up for verification before staff can release your dog. NO EXCEPTIONS!

The Dog Company will follow Wicomico County Public schools cancellations. Basically, if the schools are closed, so are we! Safety is the only concern here, we don’t want anyone of you or the staff to be in dangerous road conditions! If Day Care or training is already paid for, we will be happy to shift that balance to another day & reschedule!

Fetch has literally changed our lives, and the life of our dog!! We started our dog in doggy daycare and were very impressed. Not only is the daycare very structured, but the girls genuinely care about and love our dog - we trust them 100%! Recently, we completed the board and train with Marissa, and it has completely changed our dog for the better! Her separation anxiety is almost completely gone, she has gained so much confidence, and is living a much happier stress-free life. I would give Fetch 100 stars if I could. Thank you so much Fetch, we love you!

If you want to live a happy mostly stress free life with happy dogs GET THEM TRAINED! Where you may ask? With Marissa and the dog girls at FETCH!! I trusted Marissa with our pit mix River several years ago and could not have been happier. When our 14 year old Boxer passed away in January, River got depressed. Do we made the decision to adopt another friend for her. I immediately thought to ask Marissa to help us with this decision. Marissa took time out of her very busy schedule to come to the humane society to make sure we had the perfect fit for River. She stayed and watched how River reacted to the other dogs and helped us decide on Odin. After a 3 day introduction to our house Marissa then boarded and trained Odin for 2 weeks. The progress Odin made in those 2 weeks was amazing!!!! I don’t believe you will find anyone else that has this much passion and love for what they do. River and Odin are living their best lives thanks to the FETCH team!! The picture of them on their cots they are holding a “place” command while a guy is cleaning our gutters!!

My Corgi puppy completed their puppy program, spent time in the doggy day care, and completed a board and train once he was older. He came home from daycare every night calm and ready to relax! After the board and train, he no longer tries to bolt out the front door or run through the neighborhood chasing squirrels! We worked hard on his recall for his safety and my peace of mind. I was very impressed with the end result. Knowing your dog is receiving training and then seeing it in action is completely different! Not to mention the staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions. You can tell they really care about the dogs and recognize them for their own unique personalities. Ten out of ten would recommend!

Can I tell you how much I love these women?! The ladies at Fetch are passionate about what they do and are seriously dedicated to caring for your dog! I cannot tell you how comforting it is to know our pup is cared for during the day; knowing he is genuinely loved and treated like family makes my heart smile! And the work they do in house to train dogs is beyond!! They are constantly educating themselves about dog training and bringing that knowledge to their clients. My husband and I are so stoked to be a part the community they are growing at Fetch!
